Can a person in my party use his debit card or cash to buy things he wants instead of charging it to his magicard? He does not want to download the app to his phone

Hiya Erin and welcome to planDisney!

Your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is only a little over a week away and I know you must be so excited! While tapping that MagicBand is my usual method of payment for most things around the property, I totally understand wanting a different option. Since your traveling buddy prefers an alternative, let him know that he can totally swipe that debit card as long as it's one of these accepted credit/debit options

Pro-tip: Having a certain amount of cash on hand is always advisable, in my opinion. Certain specific items, like Mickey Balloons, have required cash payment. Also, I like to give tips to the much-appreciated Mousekeeping Cast Members in my Disney Resorts Collection hotel for all their hard work keeping the magic flowing.

Now I would still encourage him to download the My Disney Experience app for the ease of Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. I can't tell you how many times I've ordered my lunch while standing in line for an attraction. When he's not waiting forever for his Sweet and Spicy Chicken Waffle Sandwich from Sleepy Hollow Refreshments, he'll understand why it was so important!

Erin, have fun on your magical summer vacation. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back for another chat!

    Happy planning!
