Hi Katherine,
Welcome to planDisney! It's a pleasure to answer questions for guests like you who, like me, are always thinking ahead about how to keep myself and my family well-equipped for a relaxing and satisfying vacation.
I'm happy to tell you that Walt Disney World allows guests to bring snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and other food into the theme parks as long as you follow a
few simple rules. No glass (except small baby food containers) or outside alcohol is allowed, and coolers should be no larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high. Loose ice and dry ice are prohibited, too.
How many and what kind of snacks and drinks to bring is really up to you.
When it's just my husband and me, we throw our refillable water bottes and a couple of granola bars or packets of trail mix for a protein boost into our bag or backpack.
If we are traveling with little ones, we load a soft cooler with reusable ice packs into the bottom of the stroller, stocked with juice boxes, yogurts, applesauce, cheese sticks and other snacks. We also make sure there are crackers, pretzels and other munchies for the kids and adults.
I've seen families bring out a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter to make sandwiches for the whole gang on the go. Once, I even saw a family serve a full home-cooked meal from their stroller.
One tip for traveling to and from the theme parks on a
Walt Disney World bus with your stroller, cooler, snacks, water bottles, etc.: Try to limit the number of containers, coolers and loose items you have in the basket. You will need to fold the stroller to board the bus, and it's so much easier to manage if everything can be quickly combined into one or two large bags.
Thanks for your question, Katherine. Your vacation is still a few months away, so don't hesitate to come back here if you want other suggestions or recommendations.
Happy planning,
Wilma
