    Perks of becoming a DVC member? We are a family of 6 who in the past book 2 rooms. We also take advantage of the free dining offers. Would the DVC membership be cost efficient? Are there dining disounts? Is there a disadvantage in purchasing resale?Thanks

    We've never regretted our Disney Vacation Club Membership, as it has afforded us a way to travel more frequently and in nicer accommodations than we'd have otherwise.

    We love the flexibility of our Membership, too, in that we can use our points for a trip to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, for a Disney Cruise Line vacation, for a stay at Vero Beach, Hilton Head Island or at Aulani, as well as for exchanges through R.C.I.  We manage our point usage based on travel plans for the next few years, looking for the next opportunity based on things such as our kids' ages, school holidays and bringing along grandparents or other family / friends in order to spend some very special time together.

    Here's how we decided that Disney Vacation Club Membership was right for us:  we calculated how much money we'd spend on trips in the upcoming years, then noted how many Disney Vacation Club Membership points we'd be able to purchase using that same amount of money.  In my opinion, it's best to consider if you will be traveling regardless of your purchase of DVC Membership, then see what types of trips you'd be able to take using Membership points instead.

    Additional benefits, which can change at any time, include a substantial Annual Pass discount, which we use in order to take at least one one-week vacation, two summers in a row, using only one Annual Pass. Big savings right there.  Members also enjoy savings on dining and merchandise at select locations throughout the resorts and can purchase the Dining Plans based on nights of stay.

    If you haven't already, I suggest calling Disney Vacation Club at 877-382-7826 for more information. For us, this was the best decision we could have made regarding our vacation plans, and really feel that we've gotten a great value along with wonderful and unique experiences through DVC!
