how are people with a walking disability and ride an ecv able to ride the jungle cruise and pirates of the caribbean?

    Welcome back, Valerie!

Thank you for asking another excellent question! Walt Disney World Resort strives to provide access for all Guests. To help Guests with Mobility Disabilities, attractions are organized into access categories to help Guest plan their park days.

Jungle Cruise is easily accessible for Guests in ECVs. The boats have access to a ramp for easy accessibility, so Guests are welcome to remain in their ECV to experience the attraction. Just let the Cast Member at the entrance know that you would like to stay in your ECV, and they will direct you to the appropriate loading and unloading area.

Since Pirates of the Caribbean queue cannot accommodate ECVs, you must transfer to an attraction wheelchair to access the line. Then you must be able to transfer to an attraction wheelchair. In my experience, the step into the boat can be challenging. My son, who has mobility difficulties, is unable to take the step on his own; therefore, my husband and I must assist him. Cast Members are not permitted to assist so you must be able to do this on your own or with the help of a family member. Cast Members will move your wheelchair to the attraction exit so you can use it again to return to your EVC.

Keep in mind that these two attractions offer FastPass+, which can reduce your wait time in the queue. Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel can begin scheduling FastPass+ experiences 60 days before the visit while day Guests can start 30 days.

I hope this helps you plan your visit to the Magic Kingdom, and you enjoy two of my favorite iconic attractions. Please visit us again should you have another question.

    Happy Planning!
