Hello there, Molly, and welcome to planDisney! My panelist pals and I are happy to have you cruise our way.
You ask a great question! It's important for every guest that steps aboard Disney Cruise Line to feel like royalty, and the Crew Members onboard will certainly make that a reality. However, there are some guidelines about who can dress like royalty onboard. Guests under the age of 18 are welcome to dress like their favorite characters while on the ship. That means the teenagers in your travel party are welcome to wear a princess dress.
The
costume guidelines for adults request that adults limit their costume-wearing to special themed events onboard (think: Pirate Night, Star Wars Day at Sea, Marvel Day at Sea, or Halloween on the High Seas). If you have guests in your travel party that want to dress like princesses, I recommend that they choose to "Disney bound" instead. This is the term for wearing clothing that is similar to, but not an exact copy of a costume. This prevents guests from being confused with the actual Disney Characters on board the ship. I hope this information helps as you plan to
pack and prepare for your sailing.
I encourage you to carefully read the section of the Disney Cruise Line website that outlines how to
Request Special Services for anyone in your travel party that can benefit from these offerings. Please, visit us again if you have any further questions! My pals and I would be happy to help.
Wishing you a wonderful cruise,
Adrianna
