Hello, Pamela! It's so nice to meet you. Welcome to planDisney!
As you likely know, all Guests staying in a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room with a vacation package must have the same type of
theme park tickets with the same amount of days. However, if 2 Guests in the travel party would like to purchase additional tickets, they are more than welcome to do so. It would just be a separate purchase from the vacation package.
I understand that the Guests you are traveling with may not want more than 3 days in the theme parks, but if there's even a chance they do, I might see if they would. The only reason I say this is because the way theme park tickets at the
Walt Disney World Resort typically work is that the more days you have on your ticket, the less expensive it is per day. So while the total cost of each ticket will be more expensive, what you are paying
per day is less expensive. I point this out because that 1-day theme park ticket that the 2 Guests purchase will likely be much more money per day than it would be if you just added another day to the tickets in the vacation package. But if some Guests only have 3 days to spend in the park, I get it. As a teacher who can only take limited amounts of time off during the school year, I can relate!
Since you are looking to add another ticket for another day, you also might want to look into whether or not there is a
Disney After Hours event that is taking place when you are at the resort instead. These are separately ticketed events where you get exclusive access to a theme park after regular park Guests have left for the day. What does this mean? Well, for starters, the waits for attractions are usually much lower as there are fewer people in the parks. Since they take place in the evening, if you're visiting in the summer, you don't have to worry about the heat of the day or applying sunblock. Also, select beverages and snacks are included in the price of your ticket. And, since you're usually able to enter the theme park before the Disney After Hours event takes place, you can often enjoy the nighttime spectacular too (if one is offered)! Oh, and did I mention that if it's the
Disney After Hours event in Magic Kingdom Park, you can currently enjoy 2 nighttime spectaculars (weather permitting)? That's right. You can usually see
Happily Ever After with regular park Guests and a special showing of
Disney Enchantment exclusively for attendees of this event.
Pamela, no matter what you decide, I'm sure you're going to have a wonderful time at the resort. Please don't hesitate to
reach out with any other questions.
Anything is possible...for
you are the magic,
Matt
