    We have 8 people on our reservation(2 families). If one of the families want to get the dining plan can they do that or does everyone in the party need to get it? The one family will not be staying for the entire time.

     Sandra, I'm so happy to hear you're planning a summer visit. A Walt Disney World Resort vacation with a big group is sure to be BIG fun! 

     One of my favorite benefits of staying at a Disney Resort hotel is the option of adding a Dining Plan to my family's vacation package. We love how convenient, flexible, and affordable the Dining Plans are! My family prefers the Disney Dining Plan, in particular, because it gives us a good balance of Quick-Service and Table-Service options, in addition to Snack entitlements and a refillable drink mug. 

     When you purchase a Dining Plan as part of your Disney Resort Hotel Package, you must purchase it for everyone listed on your reservation who is above the age of 2. If both families traveling together in your group are listed under just one reservation, this rule would apply to your party. If each family is listed under a different reservation from one another, and your plans are simply linked through Family & Friends on My Disney Experience, one family could purchase a Dining Plan without the other family being required to purchase it as well. To discuss the unique specifics of your travel party and the possibility of adding a Dining Plan to your Disney Resort Hotel Package, I would call a friendly Cast Member at (407) 939-1936.
