I have 7 people in my party to go to Disney world this year, if I buy a magicband can that work for all of their ticketed and reserved entries and lightning lane entries or will they have to show their passes? Are military pass cards the same as magicards?

    Hi Tim, welcome to planDisney!

You can now officially say, "I'm going to Walt Disney World this month!" Isn't that an incredible feeling?! You've picked a great time to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth. Celebrations are stacking up and you'll get to experience the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival as well as The World's Most Magical Celebration.

For all Guests over the age of three, valid admission, a theme park reservation, and a method of entry are currently required for theme park entry. The three methods of entry are MagicBand, admission card, and Disney MagicMobile pass. Any of these options will communicate the vacation entitlements in your My Disney Experience account with the touchpoints at park entry and Lightning Lane entrances. MagicBands come in various designs and must be linked to an individual in My Disney Experience before use. A Disney MagicMobile pass can be downloaded in the My Disney Experience mobile app and added to the digital wallet of eligible iPhones, Apple Watches, and Google Pay enabled Android phones.

Disney Military Salute tickets purchased at a US military sales outlet must be activated before use. I recently purchased a Disney Military Salute ticket and the exchange voucher came in the form of a plastic card with a patriotic Mickey design on the front. This is not the same as an admission card that can be used for park entry. I used the number found on the back of the exchange voucher to link my ticket in My Disney Experience and make theme park reservations, but I then had to activate my ticket at a Guest Relations window before entering a theme park. I chose to activate my ticket at the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. My father-in-law showed his military ID and I was given a formal admission card with one of the Fab 50 character statues on it. I put this card in my wallet and brought it home as a souvenEAR, but I most often used my MagicBand at park entry and Lightning Lane touchpoints because of convenience.

There is one exception to note: Disney Military Salute tickets ordered directly from Shades of Green come pre-activated and may be used as admission cards.

I hope you and your traveling party have a magical vacation, Tim. Before arrival, make sure all seven of you are connected as Family and Friends in My Disney Experience. This will streamline the Lighting Lane reservation process and keep everyone on the same planning page. Don't hesitate to reach out with any follow-up questions.

    Choose magic,
