Hello and welcome, Kenneth! It sounds like you have a fun group heading down to Walt Disney World with you. You guys are going to have a great time.
Kenneth, it is absolutely okay if your party splits up during your vacation. I, too, like to enjoy some morning pool time and will meet up with people later in the day. To do this, however, the people who don't go to the theme park with the
park pass reservation in the morning will still need to do so at some point before
park hopping later in the day. With the park hopper, you must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation first - even if it is after 2:00 p.m. when park hopping officially begins. This sort of "activates" your park hopper feature each day. This isn't something that you can bypass right now.
If the people in your party know that they won't be visiting a certain theme park in the morning, it may be wise for them to cancel their park pass reservation for that particular park and select the park you'll be visiting later in the day. That way, they can meet up with you without having to go out of the way to do so. Before canceling any park pass reservations, however, I do suggest checking out the
Walt Disney World Theme Park availability calendar first. This will show you if there is any availability at the theme park they would be changing to. I'd hate for them to cancel a reservation and then not be able to secure another one so that's always a great place to start.
Kenneth, you may be tempted to try and bypass the park with the park pass reservation and have the other people in your party just meet you at your second park for the day but this won't work. I've actually tested the theory and it is true that even with the park hopper I did, indeed, have to go to the park with the park pass reservation first. It can be a slight hassle but at least you know about it ahead of time and can plan for it accordingly. If you have any other questions please feel free to come back and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Have a great day!
