Hi Lisa, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
As one of the military moms here on the panel, I’m so grateful for the fantastic discounts offered to our service members at the Walt Disney World Resort. As you know, together time is so important for military families, and as far as I’m concerned, there is no better place to make magical memories and spend time together than at Disney!
Your question is complicated, but the easy answer is: Guests with a valid and active US military ID are eligible for the Military Promotional theme park tickets and a resort hotel room discount. If you are medically retired or 100% service-connected disabled, you are eligible for these discounts. Please take a look at the fine print on both the
Military Promotional Theme Park tickets (pricing is different for 2019 and
2020 visits) for details about price and eligibility. The Military Promotional Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office at your local base, or from
Shades of Green, the resort for military members located on Walt Disney World property. With these tickets, you’ll visit Guest Relations when you arrive at Disney to show your military ID and activate the tickets. For the
resort hotel discount, the price depends on availability, so your best bet is to call (407) 939-1936 to speak with a Reservations Cast Member, who can check your travel dates and let you know what’s available and the rates.
Lisa, if you’re not eligible for the military discounts, you may want to check into Shades of Green. My pal
Amy shares information about Shades of Green’s military promotions in this answer, which I hope you find helpful. There are also military discounts at some of the retail locations around
Disney Springs, so be sure to ask when visiting shops there.
Thanks to you and your loved ones for your service, and I hope this helps clarify your eligibility. Please come back and see us if you have further questions.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
