I have 6 people in my group. Do I pair the magic band under one account and one phone, or should everyone download the app and create an account!

Hey there, LaTonya, and welcome to planDisney!

The only thing better than experiencing the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort is experiencing it with your loved ones. I have good news for you, LaTonya. You have a lot of options when it comes to organizing your crew.

I recommend that you place everyone under your My Disney Experience account. You can manage everything from Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane purchases (for Lightning Lane access) to food and merchandise Mobile Ordering. So, everyone does not need to download the app or have their account, but they do need to be on your account so you can select them for various plans.

If you need to add your party members to your My Disney Experience account, log in to your account, select "Family & Friends" and "Add a Guest." From there, you can link their theme park tickets and individual MagicBands+. You can also add their names to dining reservations and Resort hotel room reservations.

As my family's super planner, I love that my husband and two kiddos don't need anything except their handy, dandy MagicBands+ to scan into the theme parks and enjoy their day. And you know what? They technically don't need those either. I have access to their tickets in my app, can use their (optional) physical tickets, and can even scan in using my Apple Watch!

AN EXTRA GEM: Although the following is completely optional, some of my planDisney friends who have older kiddos or other family members older than 13 years old have shared with me that they do have their own My Disney Experience accounts. Sometimes it's nice for them to have access to their app so that they can search for show times or even check out the PhotoPass photos that you've taken throughout the day. Just make sure they're on your Family & Friends list.

I hope this helps, LaTonya! If you have any other Disney vacation planning questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us here at planDisney. I'm all ears!

    Magic always,
