Hiya Yvette!
It's so nice to see you again at planDisney. Your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be here before you know it. Though 2022 will have ended, the
50th Anniversary Celebration will still be going strong next January. I encourage you to experience both nighttime spectaculars that debuted as part of this historic celebration: Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom park and Harmonious at EPCOT. These shows light up the skies and Guests' hearts with messages of unity and empowerment set to moving soundtracks.
Available for a set price per person per day,
Disney Genie+ service gives Guests access to
Lightning Lane entrances at over 40 attractions throughout the four theme parks. I really appreciate your desire to understand the logistical nuances of this new service. While it's logical to assume that more people equates to more chances to book Genie+ Lightning Lane attractions, I do not recommend this approach. Instead, I recommend one member of your party book Genie+ Lightning Lane attractions for the group. Let me explain.
Once Genie+ has been purchased, you can book your first Genie+ Lightning Lane attraction at 7:00 a.m. each park day. To do so, open the
My Disney Experience mobile app, click the three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen, and click "Tip Board." Scroll to the desired attraction and click the
Book Experience button with
LL Disney Genie+ and an arrival time. The next step is to confirm your party. All members of your
Family and Friends list with
valid admission and a theme park reservation will appear. Select the members of your party and complete the booking. That's it! The process is fairly straightforward and, as long as you book right at 7:00 a.m., you should have no trouble booking your top must-do attraction. You may not get your preferred time, though, so it's important to approach each Genie+ day with a bit of flexibility.
If more than one person is trying to book a Lightning Lane attraction for the group, Yvette, there's a chance signals will cross and the process listed above will be disrupted. Each person is able to click a Lightning Lane arrival time, possibly even different arrival times, but the presence of two people trying to book for the same people at the same time means someone will get an error message at some point, and possibly both people. I just don't think it's worth the risk. I personally used the more than one person at a time strategy when booking the Virtual Queue for Star Wras: Rise of the Resistance, which is now ridden via standby line or an Individual Lightning Lane purchase, but the same strategy does not work in this scenario.
If making an Individual Lightning Lane purchase is in your plans, I do recommend one person booking the Genie+ Lightning Lane selection at 7:00 a.m. and another person making the Individual Lightning Lane purchase at 7:00 a.m. Those are separate, non-competing processes, and that would be a great way to maximize the magic at the start of your park day!
I hope we continue to see you and your great questions at planDisney, Yvette.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
