Do people ever cancel reservations? I was hoping to goto magic Kingdom july 21st but not available

Hello there, Porshe. Thanks for dropping by planDisney with your question.

So, I actually took a look at the Walt Disney World Availability calendar for July 21st and it does show that there is full availability at all of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. So before you continue on reading this, head over to the park pass reservation website (linked for you) and snag yourself one for Magic Kingdom Park!

To answer your question, Walt Disney World Theme Park availability is constantly changing. When Guests change their itinerary or cancel a park pass reservation altogether, that does get reflected on the calendar. If you are having a hard time getting a park pass reservation for a theme park that you would really like to visit, my best advice is to keep checking back. I've had good luck with grabbing a park pass reservation for a previously sold-out date just by checking back at odd times. Early in the morning or late at night seems to have worked best for me in the past.

If it is getting close to your travel date and you still aren't having luck securing a park pass reservation for a certain theme park, I think upgrading your tickets to include the park hopper option is the way to go. Park hopping is where you are able to visit multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. Park hopping just recently returned to us and does look a little bit different than it did before.

Here's how park hopping is currently working:

    • Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
    • Guests wishing to park hop must make park pass reservations for an initial theme park to visit each day
    • On the day of, Guests must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation first before continuing on to other parks later in the day
    • Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each park closes in the evenings
    • It is not necessary to make additional park pass reservations to park hop throughout the day - just the initial one
So if you aren't able to secure a park pass reservation for Magic Kingdom Park, you can always upgrade your tickets to include the park hopper option. Then, you can visit a theme park for which you are able to secure a park pass reservation for and then hop over to Magic Kingdom Park for the afternoon and evening.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and ask me. I'm here to help. Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
