Hey there Lucy!
Planning a Disney vacation can be so exciting, and it's great to see you're looking into all the necessary preparations to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. Disney offers a range of services for
Guests with Disabilities to help make their visit as magical and smooth as possible.
For guests with mobility disabilities, Disney provides accessible transportation, wheelchair rentals, and accessible attractions. Guests with visual disabilities can benefit from audio descriptions and Braille guides. Those with cognitive disabilities can take advantage of services like break areas and other accommodations for attractions.
I highly recommend checking out all the available
services and accommodations online in advance of your visit. This will give you a comprehensive understanding of what Disney offers and help you plan accordingly. You can download the
Accessibility Planning Guide and Recommendations here.
Regarding the Disability Access Service (DAS), there have indeed been some recent changes. Now, to see if you qualify for DAS, you will need to do an online video chat upon your arrival at the Walt Disney World Resort. During this video chat, you can discuss your needs and the accommodations you're requesting with a Cast Member. The Cast Member will help you work through these accommodations to ensure your visit is as enjoyable as possible.
If you need any assistance with this process, I recommend visiting
Guest Relations at any of the Theme Parks or Disney Springs. The Cast Members there are incredibly helpful and will ensure you get the support you need.
Wishing you a magical vacation! Enjoy every moment of your time at the Walt Disney World Resort!
