We have people arriving on different days for an upcoming reservation. The reservation is for 9 nights but one member of our party is only coming for 6 nights. Can we purchase the Disney dining plan without purchasing that person food for three nights over

Welcome to planDisney, Vincent! I'm happy to welcome you to be our guest as we navigate the ins and outs of the Disney dining plan options for your upcoming visit!

Vincent, with two different Disney dining plan options, you're sure to find the one that works best for you! Whether you prefer the on-the-go, casual style of the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, or the sit-down style of the Disney Dining Plan that offers options for character meals, dinner shows, and signature dining, each meal plan also offers snacks and a resort-refillable mug for each member of your party!

When guests book a Disney vacation package and choose a dining plan, each guest on the same Disney Resort hotel reservation must have the same dining plan, so if your travel party is all staying together in one hotel room, each person must purchase the same dining plan, and the dining plan cannot be purchased for only a portion of your stay, it must be purchased for the entire length of your Disney Resort hotel reservation.

One alternative might be to book a split stay, where your party can book the first six nights with a dining plan for the total number of guests and then a second stay for the rest of your party. If you choose this, just be aware that you'll need to use all of your dining plan meals and snacks for the first part of your trip before midnight on your first check-out day, as they will not roll into your second reservation. Another thing to keep in mind is that all of your meals and snacks are available as soon as you check into your Disney Resort hotel, so if your guest won't stay the entire time, a little extra snacking or signature dining might be a way to ensure all their meals and snacks are used before they leave!

Vincent, I hope this helps explain the dining plan policy! Whatever you choose, there are lots of great meals and snacks waiting for you at the Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have any questions before your visit, come see us again here at planDisney!
