There are 7 people (5 adults, 2 kids (8 and 9 yrs old) in our group that will be visiting DW in April. I have the MDE app on my phone now. how soon do i need to link the others in my party to it?

    Hiya, Minnie! Welcome to planDisney!

It sounds like you have a fun visit coming up soon to The Most Magical Place on Earth! Spring is one of my favorite times of year to visit Walt Disney World Resort, Minnie. Typically, the weather is lovely, and the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival has EPCOT looking especially beautiful!

Now, let’s get to your question. I always say there’s no time like the present! And in this instance, I would suggest linking the other members of your party as soon as you are able. This is especially true if you will be managing plans on behalf of your party for your visit.

By having everyone in your party linked to your Family & Friends List, you’ll be able to make and see all of the plans that you share. You’ll also be able to link them to dining reservations, Enchanting Extras, and Lightning Lanes, to name a few.

If you have a valid Disney Resort Hotel reservation, you can make your dining reservations for the entire length of your stay, for a stay of up to 10 days, 60 days before your arrival. If you are staying elsewhere, you’ll be able to make reservations 60 days ahead of the day you intend to dine. The same booking windows also apply to the Enchanting Extras Collection.

You can add Guests to your Family & Friends List from any device that has the My Disney Experience app downloaded. Once you are logged in to your account and are on the welcome page of the app, follow these steps:

    1. From the icons at the bottom of your screen, select the icon with the three horizontal lines, which is the rightmost icon.
    2. Scroll down to the “Account” heading and tap on the “Profile” box.
    3. Select the “Family & Friends List” icon at the top right corner of your screen.
    4. Select the “Add a Guest” box.
    5. From here, you will be prompted to either create a Guest or send an existing Guest an invite to be added to your Family & Friends List.
    6. From there, you can assign tickets to eligible Guests in your Family & Friends List and manage their plans as well.

If you prefer, you can also do this from a web browser. To add Guests from a web browser, follow these steps:

    1. Visit the Walt Disney World Resort website.
    2. From the welcome page, select the top rightmost dropdown menu labeled “My Disney Experience.” You may be prompted to log in if you haven’t done so already.
    3. Navigate to “My Family & Friends.”
    4. From here, you will be prompted to either create a Guest or send an existing Guest an invite to be added to your Family & Friends List.
    5. You will then be able to assign tickets and manage plans for the Guests in your Family & Friends List.

Note that since you will be traveling with children under the age of 13, you or someone in your party will manage all of their plans for them.

I hope this answers your questions, Minnie. If you have any other questions as you continue planning this magical vacation for you and your party, please come back and see us here at planDisney!

    See you real soon!
