Hi Tina,
Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you're about to embark on a memorable vacation. I'm so excited that you're staying at the
Disneyland Hotel. It's my favorite of the three Disneyland Resort hotels. As the original resort hotel, the Disneyland Hotel holds a special place in Disney history. Plus, it's just a short walk to the Monorail, which makes accessing Disneyland Park easy, especially on early
entry days!
For the size of your family, you’ve definitely chosen the best type of room. It allows for some privacy while still providing the option to continue the magic after leaving the parks. These rooms do not come with a dining table, but do include a bar table for a quick bite. The only other option that might be even better is the 3-Bedroom Grand Villa at
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. The villa gives off a home-away-from-home vibe, complete with a common space, kitchen, and dining table. It would be a big upgrade from connecting suites—and possibly one of those once-in-a-lifetime stays. I mention it just in case it’s something you’d like to look into!
As for which tower is the best, that’s a fun question to consider. Many of the rooms in the three main towers are similarly styled, featuring beautiful wooden headboards that light up with twinkling stars and Sleeping Beauty Castle; pure magic at bedtime, especially for little ones. The rooms in the Discovery Tower have unique themes, including The Jungle Book, Sleeping Beauty, The Princess and the Frog, and Fantasia.
When my family visits the Disneyland Hotel, my mom always hopes I’ve booked a room with a view of the pool. In my experience, I love the pool views from both the Fantasy Tower and the Discovery Tower in The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. Some rooms even offer views of the Disneyland fireworks at night! I recommend asking at the front desk during check-in to see if any are available for your room type. Fireworks-view rooms are most commonly found in the Fantasy, Adventure, or Discovery Towers.
To wrap things up, I want to share one final tip about hotel living! If your schedule allows, take some time to enjoy the hotel and the Downtown Disney District.
Your hotel offers
various activities like movies, crafts, and even fitness classes. September weather is usually still lovely, you can also plan a relaxing
pool day. After a long day in the parks, wind down at Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar or the Broken Spell Lounge back at the hotel. Both are great spots for a late-night treat or a magical nightcap.
Be sure to check out the
ultimate guide to Downtown Disney. I'm a big fan of The Vista, the upstairs lounge at Parkside Market. I once ordered a drink called On the Wing; it comes in a cool bird-shaped glass. While relaxing in the lounge, you can enjoy the sounds from the LIVE! Stage. Or, you can head back downstairs and listen to the music while your little ones get their wiggles out in the grassy area nearby.
I hope this information helps, Tina! If you have any other questions or need help planning, feel free to reach out to me or one of my fellow panelists. We’d be happy to share more tips to make your visit extra magical.
Have a wonderful trip!
