Are people able to send wedding invitations to Mickey & Minnie or other characters?

Wishing you a very Royal welcome Amber!

I'm so thrilled that you asked me this question here at planDisney because as a groom planning my upcoming Disney Fairy Tale Wedding at Walt Disney World Resort, getting married at a place that's filled with so many magical memories has been an adventure in itself!

As part of any wedding planning process, putting together a guest list can often be challenge, especially when meeting the requirements at the various venues that are available at the resorts and theme parks. After spending years listening to Disney wedding podcasts, reading tips from groups online and seeing pictures of real couples on the Ever After Blog I thought it would be a fun idea to invite some of our character pals and have them be a part of the big day.

After reaching out to the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings team, I was informed that couples have been able to successfully mail their invitations to the following address:

    Walt Disney World Communications
    P.O. Box 10040
    Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830

While there's no guarantee, there's a greater chance that you might get a magical response in the mail by including a self-addressed stamped envelope! You can even have your personal wedding invitation envelopes specially stamped at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. if you ask the friendly Guest Relations Cast Members. There's a nice touch of whimsy when you pop them into the mailbox to send them right from the Magic Kingdom; be sure to include the proper postage before you do!

If you're like me and watched every episode of the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings series on Disney+, I've learned from my personal wedding planning experience that a lot of the experiences those lucky couples received were examples of some great television magic and storytelling elements sprinkled in, that might not be available to every Disney wedding. However, I was delighted to discover that beyond sending a written invitation, there's actually a possibility for couples to have special guests like Mickey and Minnie be a part of their big day!

While unfortunately they won't be able to attend the ceremony, there's a chance that they can make an appearance at your reception in increments of up to 30 minutes, which includes the travel time from when they put on their best attire (that you can even request) for the big celebration. Note that special appearances may not be approved or available at every venue especially if it's in a location accessible to non-wedding guests, and some may also have specific restrictions like requiring an additional backdrop.

While planning my Disney Fairy Tale Wedding, the availability and pricing was definitely subject to change, so for future couples I always recommend checking with their Disney Weddings team to confirm the most updated information.

Please feel free to come back and ask me any other questions; when it comes to weddings, I was happy to be able to find this information myself! I'm always excited to research and share the most up-to-date information about getting engaged and married at Disney destinations around the world.

Here's to where this next great adventure will lead for years to come!
