Hi Debora!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
Ahhhhhh, the Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe's "Secret Nachos". Were they just a "tall tale", or did they really exist? I can tell you from first-hand experience that they did in fact exist, because I experienced them with a bunch of friends during Princess Half Marathon Weekend in 2017. They are, however, a thing of the past, as they're no longer being offered at Pecos Bill's.
The Nachos Rio Grande Challenge was a secret menu item, offered at
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe in
Magic Kingdom Park last year. You could only order the giant platter of nachos between the hours of 3:00pm and 6:00pm, and it was first-come, first-served. The massive platter was said to feed 4-6 people, but I think we could have easily fed our party of 12 from one order (we ordered two). The nachos cost $90 for an order, and came with ground beef, chicken, pork, and the entire toppings bar if you wanted it (cheese, salsa, tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole and jalapenos)!
Once you placed your order, the celebration began. Our Muchacho (our personal server), escorted us to a special reserved table, as other cast members joined in the parade, banging cups and dancing. It was quite a show! We ate until we were stuffed, and then received sheriff's badges and certificates for (sort of) completing the challenge. I have to say, my table had lots left over!
While the "secret nachos" are no longer, my fingers are crossed that there will be other "secret" menu items added in dining locations at Walt Disney World Resort. It was a really fun experience!
Thanks again for your question - have a magical day! - Diane W.
