Will PCR testing be available on board Disney ships or at WDW resort so international travellers will be able to be tested prior to returning home?

    Ahoy Karen!

Welcome to planDisney! You have a Disney cruise on the horizon...YAY! Cruising with Captain Mickey is quite possibly one of my most MAGICal travel experiences.  I WISH the same for you and your family as you plan to take a DREAMy adventure at sea with Disney Cruise Line.

Great question to find out where testing facilities will be located so you can return home safely. While I am sure there will likely be some testing options available in the area, I am not certain at this point whether they will be at the cruise terminal or port. We are in a very fluid situation, and the Disney Cruise Line crew is still working very hard to figure out the path to a return to cruising. I’ll bet that in the coming weeks, you will hear more about this, similar to the way that Disney Magic at Sea sailings have been able to release many more specifics about those itineraries. That is because the Disney Magic will be the first ship to return to sailing from the United Kingdom-hooray! I imagine that when the ships begin sailing from U.S. ports again, it will be spelled out on the Disney Cruise Line website.

I do know that the Orlando area offers many testing facilities that would include PCR tests. My pal and fellow panelist Kathy K. recently answered a similar question and did all the sleuthing already. Since her answer, I think that the Maingate location on Disney property has closed. An additional resource I would suggest is the City of Orlando website, which also shares updated information on places to get tested locally.

I am sorry I have nothing definitive to tell you just yet because I would love to know, too! But there is time between now and your September travel plans for all this to get ironed out. What I CAN tell you is to pay close attention to Disney Cruise Line as more details are released about sailing as well as the Disney Parks Blog which will share the most recent cruise announcements.

I hope when we do get the final details about cruising protocols, you will be overjoyed at the idea of sailing with Captain Mickey and that you will have an amazing adventure at sea!

    Happy Sailing!
