Hey Howdy Hey Mike and welcome to planDisney!
Spring and fall are my two favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort. Especially in September, you have the transition for the full "fall feels" as well as decor for the Halloween season up which is just a totally different experience. One of the great things about planning a trip to Walt Disney World is also the flexibility of your payment for your vacation. This is specific to your booking so let's talk about some options from here.
If you book a
vacation package to Walt Disney World, which includes hotel accommodations and park tickets, you will have the most options. First, you are required to put in a $200.00 deposit for your reservation and the total amount is due 30 days from your date of arrival. If you so choose, you can make payments towards your vacation through the
My Disney Experience account online. Once you log on, go to your "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section. Look on the far right and you should see an option to "Make Payment". If you do so more than 30 days from your arrival date, by going through the prompts you can specify how much you would like to pay towards your vacation and put in your card information as well. This should give you an updated total after you submit your payment as well as an email for a receipt with your updated total.
If you make a
room-only reservation, this works a little differently. With this option, you are required to put down a deposit equal to the first night's stay plus tax. The total amount due is due on the date of arrival. With a room-only reservation, you are not able to pay this in advance and only on the date of arrival at the check-in desk.
One little tip if I may for your trip in September, keep an eye out for
Disney's After Hours Boo Bash Event. This special ticketed event happens on select nights around the Halloween season in Magic Kingdom and gives you special access to the parks and attractions. With lower crowd levels and wait times as well as special parades and things throughout the parks to celebrate the season it really is a great way to experience Magic Kingdom. We like to take advantage of this without spending the full day in the park as you are usually allowed in the parks a little early and goes later at night for plenty of time in the park!
Good luck with your continued planning and let us know if you have any further questions!
Happy planning,
Nick
