Hi there, Laura! What an amazing mom you are for gifting your son and his family a Disney Cruise. I hope you get to share in their joy and savor every magical moment together.
If this is their first Disney Cruise, online check-in will open 30 days before sailing as long as the reservation is paid in full. Payment information is under the Onboard Account section. If you are also on this sailing, he will be able to select “charges paid by another guest” and then choose your name. You don’t have to be in the same stateroom to be the one responsible. Your reservations just need to be linked.
If you are not joining them, I recommend gifting them onboard credit that they can use towards their purchases. Any remaining amount will be refunded to your credit card. Visit the Disney Cruise Line website and look for
Onboard Gifts under the Already Booked tab. Once you enter the reservation details, hover over the arrow next to Shop by Category, then select Onboard Credit and enter the payment information. Your son will receive a card in his stateroom notifying him of the credit. The credit is applied to everyone in the stateroom. There is no need to gift everyone individually.
Any purchases they make with their Key to the World Card or
DisneyBand+ will automatically be deducted from their stateroom credit. They can keep track of their spending on the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
I'm sure they'll have an absolute blast with Captain Mickey! Thank you so much for reaching out to planDisney. If there's anything else you need help with, just let me know – I'm here to make your planning as magical as possible!
SEAS the adventure!
