Can you pay using DVC points?

Hi there, Joanne! Welcome Home - and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you found us. For us Disney Vacation Club Members, Vacation Points involve some serious Disney math, and I will be happy to provide some information about using those points. Let's hop to it!

In my book, one of the best aspects of DVC is the ability to use your Vacation Points in lots of different ways. This includes booking magical stays at Disney Collection properties around the world to make the vacation of your dreams a reality. Whether you are hoping to travel to California, Paris, Tokyo, or Hong Kong, you can do this by exchanging your points for a non-DVC destination. The Points Charts for all eligible Disney properties will let you know exactly how many points you'll need to book your vacation.

When you're ready to make a reservation, simply call Member Services, and the always-helpful Cast Members will handle the transaction for you. Keep in mind that any points exchange carries a one-time, non-refundable fee (currently $95, but subject to change).

Joanne, I see that you recently asked a question about Disney Cruise Line, so let's also chat about using those points to sail away on a relaxing voyage. Booking a cruise using DVC points is just another type of exchange, so the details above will apply here, too! You can find the DCL Points Charts here to get an idea of how many points you'll need for your ideal itinerary and dates.

For Disney Cruise Line reservations, you may use a combination of Vacation Points and cash for the booking. However, at least one Guest must be paid for entirely with points. For instance, if my family of four was setting sail, I could use points to cover my reservation, and cash for the other three individuals. You cannot combine points and cash to pay for a single Guest.

I hope this information is helpful for your planning purposes, Joanne! If I didn't cover the specifics you need, please don't hesitate to reach out again. I'm always here to lend a helping hand to a fellow DVC Member. Thanks so much for visiting planDisney!
