Ahoy there, Richard! It looks like a Disney Cruise is at the top of your mind and I’m thrilled you decided to sail by planDisney with your question.
You’ve discovered one of my favorite ways to maximize my money on a Disney Cruise: Disney Gift Cards! Whether you received one as a gift or you picked them up yourself at a discount, I’m happy to say that you can definitely use Disney Gift Cards on your cruise.
First and foremost, a Disney Gift Card can be used to settle your onboard account. I recommend visiting Guest Services at least one day prior to the end of your cruise to have the gift card applied.
Another option is to use your Disney Gift Card to pay for items directly onboard, like at Mickey’s Mainsail or even at
Castaway Cay. If you prefer to load your gift card before stepping onto the ship, visit
Onboard Gifts, enter your reservation details, and then select Onboard Credit. From there, enter your gift card information and the credit will be applied to your account.
While not technically a gift card, I also like to use my Disney Rewards Redemption Card. This is something I can add funds to as I earn them from having a
Chase Disney Visa Card. Using your Chase Disney Visa to book your cruise can come with extra benefits, so you’ll definitely want to check out all the
Disney Visa Cardmember perks if you’re a cardmember like me.
Speaking of paying for your cruise, a Disney Gift Card can also be used as payment for a Disney Cruise Line vacation by contacting a
Disney Cruise Line representative or visiting
DisneyCruise.com.
I hope this helps streamline your cruise planning and makes your upcoming trip even more affordable. Now I want to go check my available balance on my gift cards and rewards card so I can start planning my next cruise vacation! If I can answer any further questions before your next trip, please sail back to us here at
planDisney.
Embrace the magic,
Sami
