Hey, Alan, and welcome to planDisney.
Disney Gift Cards are the most magical way to pay for anything Disney. Last summer we paid for an
Adventures By Disney Canadian Rockies trip and a
Disney Cruise Line voyage in Alaska all with Disney Gift Cards. Talk about a magical summer.
When you make a room-only Disney Resort Hotel reservation (not a vacation package, these rules are different) through the Walt Disney World Resort website or through Disney directly, you must pay the balance when you check in at the Front Desk of your
Disney Resort Hotel. Just take your gift cards, preferably printed-out copies or hard plastic cards to the front desk and a Cast member will assist you. The Disney Gift Card website does not allow you to make direct payments. To make payment easier on the Cast Member and to save everyone time, know the balance on each card by using a permanent marker to write it on the card. Please note, if you do not pay at check-in then you will not be able to get your room or utilize
Direct-to-Room Service. I recommend you pay the balance ahead of time by
calling Guest Services to save time.
planDisney Pro Tip: For high-cost trips, we maximize our Disney Gift Card balances and decrease the number of gift cards we have to carry through the Disney Gift Card website. You may transfer card balances to create gift cards of up to $1000 (limit subject to change).
Alan, your July Disney adventure is so soon. Please feel free to
write me back directly with any follow-up questions and tell Mickey I said “hi.”
Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
