Hi Colette,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I’m so happy to hear you’ll be staying at
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. It’s a gorgeous resort, featuring so many magical Disney details, and it’s such a relaxing place to unwind and go into “vacation mode” after time spent in the theme parks.
Colette, one of the many perks of staying on-site as a registered Guest at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel is that
standard self-parking at the theme parks is complimentary. When you pull up to the parking window at each of the theme parks, the Cast Member will scan your MagicBand to confirm you are a resort Guest, and will then wave you through. At your resort, you will pay a nightly rate for overnight self-parking; the current rate for a moderate resort is $19 per night (including tax), but these prices are subject to change. That charge will be added to your resort folio upon check-out.
Since you asked about parking, I’m going to provide my favorite parking tip: use the camera on your cell phone to take a picture of the sign in your parking area. Disney themes the parking zones in the different parks so you can remember where you’ve parked, but those lots are giant, and I promise you’ll be tired when returning to your car. This way, you don’t have to think twice, and my kids love coming across these pictures on my phone and saying “remember when we parked in Jafar, Mom?” It’s the little things.
Have a wonderful time at Walt Disney World, Colette! If you have any other questions as you plan and do your Disney Dreaming, please come back and see us.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
