Can I pay for the parking at the Disney covered parking lot in advance to guarantee a parking spot?

    Ahoy, Joseph!

Welcome aboard planDisney! Getting all the little embarkation day details lined up, like parking, always feels a bit like Goofy preparing for a big road trip to Lake Destiny. You want everything mapped out ahead of time so the day starts smooth and stress-free, leaving more time to enjoy the excitement of boarding your ship.

When it comes to parking at Port Canaveral and Port Everglades, there is currently no option to prepay or reserve a parking spot in advance. The process is designed to be simple and efficient, so you’ll take care of payment right there at the port. The good news is that these garages are built to support large numbers of cruise Guests, so finding a parking space has never been an issue in my experience.

Right now, the parking rate at both ports is $20 per day plus tax, and that typically includes both your embarkation day and your return day. So, for example, if you’re heading out on a 4-night cruise from Port Canaveral from Monday through Friday, you’re generally looking at about $107 total after tax.

Here’s how the parking process works depending on which port you’re sailing from:
Port Canaveral – You’ll pay as you enter the parking garage, so it helps to have a credit or debit card ready when you pull up. The flow of traffic is usually very efficient, and before you know it, you’ll be parking and spotting your ship towering above the terminal like Elsa’s ice palace rising into view.
Port Everglades – You’ll receive a ticket when you enter the parking area, then pay at a kiosk on the main level when you return from your cruise. Be sure to keep that ticket somewhere safe during your voyage so it’s ready when you need to exit.

When it comes to your Port Arrival Time, my crew and I like to arrive at the cruise terminal about 30 minutes prior to our assigned time. No matter which port you’re sailing from, your first stop will be the luggage drop-off area before heading to find a parking spot. That little buffer helps take the pressure off in case of traffic delays and makes the start of your vacation feel more relaxed.

I hope this helps you feel confident about your parking plans and ready to roll into embarkation day without any worries. With no reservations required and a smooth system already in place, you can focus on the excitement of stepping onboard and starting your adventure.
