Hiya Cassandra!
Welcome to planDisney! On my last family trip to Walt Disney World we decided to rent a car and use it to travel to and from the Parks. Since we were staying offsite it was necessary but I found I missed the complimentary
Disney Resort Transportation that Guests staying onsite at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel experience. Regardless, I learned that there are benefits to having a car on several days such as it is a great place to hide all my souvenirs or leave extra jackets that we no longer needed.
Now
parking fees vary for various reasons. Let me break it down for you.
Walt Disney World Resort HotelsGuests who are staying at these Resorts or are visiting with a Dining Reservation or reserved recreation experience do not have to pay for self-parking at the Resorts. If the Resort has valet parking there is a fee.
Theme ParksGuests who are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel or are
Annual Passholders with included free self-parking in their pass are provided free Standard Parking. If you are one of these two groups and would like to upgrade to Preferred parking then you must pay the difference in value for that day.
If you are not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and do not have an Annual Pass then you have to pay for parking.
Disney SpringsThis shopping and entertainment hotspot has complimentary self-parking. I always make sure to visit at least once on my trip to get my souvenir shopping done.
When visiting the Parks make sure to know that certain oversized vehicles like RVs and vehicles with trailers will have to pay a greater fee.
I hope this helps and if you have any more questions please feel free to
reach out!
Happy Planning!
