Hi Erin,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! It sounds like your planning process is similar to mine. In the days leading up to certain booking dates, like
Enchanting Extras or Lightning Lane passes, I like to have everything ready in advance. Then, I can spend less time finding my gift cards and more time picking the perfect time of day to ride Space Mountain!
When purchasing
Lightning Lane Multi Pass or Single Pass, you can add a gift card at the time of checkout. I reached out to a Cast Member to confirm that you can use two forms of payment if your gift card does not cover the balance due. However, there are a few things to keep in mind.
You can store credit card information in your My Disney Experience account, and that card will be your default payment method. You cannot store a gift card, so you will need to take some time to enter the gift card information. When you select your Lightning Lane times the system will hold your selections for 5 minutes, and the timer will continue to count down as you check out. Some of my fellow panelists recommend saving your gift card information in an app on your phone that will allow you to copy and paste it into the My Disney Experience app.
I like to use my
Disney gift cards to pay when I use
Merchandise Mobile Checkout or when I
Mobile Order snacks in the parks. Recently, I used it to order a Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich from
ABC Commissary in Hollywood Studios. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered it a second time on our trip!
I hope this was helpful, Erin! Enjoy using your Lightning Lane passes on your vacation. If you have any more questions, we’re here to help at
planDisney!
