If I pay in full for my Disneyland package (neighborhood hotel and disney tickets) can I reschedule the dates without penalty if something comes up?

    Hi Kristin,

Booking a Disneyland vacation package through the Walt Disney Travel Company is a fantastic idea! This free service helps guests book stays at the three Disneyland Resort hotels or one of the many Good Neighbor Hotels around the Disneyland Resort. They also assist with purchasing park tickets, making this a great option for a hassle-free experience.

Sometimes, unexpected circumstances occur, and we have to make changes to our Disney vacations. I was able to speak with a friendly Cast Member at the Walt Disney Travel Company, and they confirmed the current policies for me:

    * If you need to cancel your trip 30 days or more prior to your check-in date, there is no penalty.
    * If you cancel between 29 and 4 days before arrival, there is a $200 cancellation fee (fees are subject to change).
    * Cancellations made 3 days or less prior to check-in are nonrefundable.

There’s a bit more flexibility when it comes to modifying your reservation. You can modify your trip up to 4 days prior to check-in. Keep in mind that there may be a change in rates depending on your new travel dates, and you’ll need to pay any difference. Emergency changes (3 days or less before check-in) must be handled through Guest Services. You can reach the vacation package line at (714) 520-5060.

One final reminder, your trip is scheduled during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort (August 22 through October 31). Over at California Adventure Park, Plaza de la Familia will also be in full swing from August 22 through November 2, celebrating the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos. Be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog for an overview of the spooky season celebrations. And keep an eye on the site for a Foodie Guide; I’m sure it’s coming soon!

I hope this was helpful, Kristin! Hopefully, you'll be able to take your trip as planned. If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your family’s next Disney adventure.

    Have a spooktacular vacation!
