Hello Dawn!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with an excellent question!
As a fellow international Guest, I also like to use cash to pay for food and merchandise purchases charged to my room with a
MagicBand. We never know what can happen with currency exchange rates so I avoid using my credit card if possible.
However, since a valid credit card must be linked to your
account during your stay, I recommend stopping by
Front Desk in the evening before check-out to pay for your expenses using a different payment method. Please note that the credit card on file is automatically charged at midnight before check-out or any time you reach the charging limit of your Disney Resort hotel during your stay – check your hotel limit with Cast Members upon arrival. This means you will have to plan accordingly.
Last time I visited with my family I used
Disney Gift Cards to pay for our expenses, and during a previous vacation with my mother she also decided to pay for some of her expenses so we stopped by Front Desk to check our folio. She was able to pay for her purchases and I settled the balance that was left in our account. This is a good option if your children would like to use their savings since all MagicBands in one reservation are linked to the same credit card on file.
I hope this helps you while planning, Dawn! Please stop by real soon if you have more questions.
Best magical wishes,
Thiana
