Hi Janice! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your excellent question!
I'm so delighted to hear that you are planning a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation! It looks like you’re thinking of visiting this summer, so you are in for a special treat as you will arrive in time to join in the fun of
Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration. There are special celebratory sprinkles of pixie dust across the resort in honor of the big five-o, including the stunning Beacons of Magic located at each of the four theme parks. Each theme park icon has been transformed with EARidescent color and light. I promise you’ve never seen anything like it! But, my hands-down favorite is the spectacular projection on
The Hollywood Tower Hotel. If you get a chance to visit
Disney’s Hollywood Studios at night, be sure to look up at the very top floor to see some of the hotel's haunting guests enjoying a dance in the ballroom at the top of the hotel. Such a cool bit of extra magic!
To answer your question, Janice, unfortunately, cash is currently not an accepted form of payment to book a stay at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. Instead, you can pay using a Disney® Visa® Credit or Debit Card, or another credit or debit card, a Disney Gift Card, and a Disney Rewards Redemption Card. So, if you have access to a Debit Card, you can use that to secure your reservation. Alternatively, since Disney Gift Cards can be used to make a payment, you can use your cash to purchase some Disney Gift Cards from a local retailer, and then use those gift cards to book your vacation.
Now, it might be helpful to know that only a $200 deposit (though the deposit amount is subject to change) is required at the time of booking, with your final payment due 30 days before your arrival. So if you’d like, you can make incremental payments on your vacation in the months leading up to your trip. If you decide to make payments over time, the process is quite simple! All you need to do is log into your
My Disney Experience account and head over to "My Plans." Next, navigate to"Resort Hotel," and scroll down until you see the "Make a Payment" option. Finally, you can follow the prompts to make your payment, and you are all set!
I do hope this has been helpful! If you have any other vacation planning questions, please do
revisit here at planDisney! We would absolutely love to help you make the move of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Until next time,
Diana
