Hey there, Lisa. Welcome to planDisney. We're so glad you're here and brought this question to us. It sounds like a visit to the Disneyland Resort is in the works and I'm delighted to help.
Plans can often change, so it's always good to know what your options are before you might need to make any changes. I'm guessing that you might be asking about a
Disneyland Vacation Package, but if that's not the case, I'll also cover theme park tickets and hotel stays separately. When it comes to theme park tickets, these are unfortunately
nonrefundable. While you can't get a refund, the good news is that you can
modify your theme park reservation to visit on a different date. Keep in mind that if you purchased a 1-day theme park ticket, you may be
limited to visits on certain days, unless you upgrade to a higher tier.
When staying at a
Disneyland Resort hotel, the room reservation must be cancelled at least 4 days prior to your arrival date to receive a full refund. This is subject to the "24-Hour Booking Policy," which states that your room only reservation is refundable within 24 hours of booking, if booked 72 hours or more prior to the posted check-in time (subject to change). Be sure to check out all terms and conditions before making your purchase.
For vacation packages, cancellations made 30 days or more prior to your arrival are eligible for a refund (this excludes cancellation fees assessed by third-party hotels or other suppliers, non-refundable travel protection plan costs, and other amounts owed) and subject to the 24-Hour Booking Policy shared above. Partial refunds are available for cancellations made 4 to 29 days prior to your arrival, and cancellations made 3 days or less prior to your arrival are nonrefundable. I strongly recommend carefully reading through the
vacation package terms and conditions to understand all of the details to ensure this will work for you.
As far as refunds when purchasing with Affirm, I recommend following up directly with them to understand the policy and process as it may vary from merchant to merchant. Did you know that when you purchase a Disneyland Vacation Package, you are only required to pay a small deposit at the time of booking? The
balance isn't due until 30 days prior to your arrival and you can make as many payments as you like along the way. This is a great option to pay for your magical vacation over time, as long as you are booking a trip more than 30 days in advance.
It's an especially
magical year to visit Disneyland with so many wonderful events planned, including the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration. Mickey and his pals are dressed in their celebration best and you can find themed food throughout the resort. Download the
Disneyland app for your visit to find a guide to the festivities.
Lisa, there's a lot of information that I shared. Come back to visit us with any other questions and feel free to
ask me directly. Until then, I hope this has been helpful and wish you a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.
Michelle
