Howdy there, Steve. Welcome to
planDisney.
Steve,
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is one of my favorite places to stay. In fact, my family and I stay there every year for Christmas. It's the most magical way to spend Christmas at Walt Disney World if you ask me!
There used to be a walking path that connected Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground with
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Unfortunately, that is no longer available for Guests to use. If you'd like to go back and forth between the two resorts you have a few different options. The first is to take the boat from either resort over to Magic Kingdom Park. Then, you can switch lines and set off for your destination. The journey will take about 20-30 minutes but it's a pretty view along the way. Sometimes the resorts also have a bus that runs between the two. This option isn't always running, so be sure to stop by the front desk at either resort to ask about the route times if that is something you are interested in.
If you make your way over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge and find yourself needing a snack, I suggest stopping by
Geyser Point Bar & Grill. It's one of my favorite places to relax in the afternoon.
On the menu, you'll find one of my favorite appetizers at Walt Disney World - the Cheesy Barbecue Brisket served with house-made chips. It is scrape the plate good!
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions about either resort, please feel free to come back and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Have a magical day!
Jackie H.
