Hey there, James!
We sometimes bring my in-laws along to the Most Magical Place on Earth, and they both need an electronic conveyance vehicle (ECV) or a scooter to get around. I loved the Minnie Van service because although
Walt Disney World Resort transportation is very scooter friendly, sometimes we need to get from resort to resort, making a standard bus a little inefficient.
James, I did a little research and found that Uber WAV and Lyft Access, which are the services that provide mobility disability-friendly transportation, are not currently available in the Orlando area.
If your scooter is portable, many people have said that they disassemble it, and it fits perfectly into the trunk of an Uber XL, which is the largest car that you can request through the Uber App.
What I did find is that MEARS taxi does have a wheelchair/scooter-friendly transportation option. I recommend that you give them a call. You can also book MEARS transportation in advance, so that you are not subject to a longer wait if a taxi is not immediately available.
James, if you plan on doing a lot of resort hopping, or using a taxi more than once or twice on your trip, it may be a little less stressful to rent a wheelchair-friendly vehicle. Situations like this make me incredibly thankful that the Disney busses, boats, and monorail can all
accommodate scooters.
I know you will still have a magical time, James!
See you real soon!
