Welcome to planDisney, Heather!
This is a great question. Recently, I visited Disneyland and stayed off property. My hotel (which shall not be named) still had carpeted floors in the rooms. I have a small Mouseketeer who loves to play and lie on the floor. I lost count of the number of times I had to tell him to stop putting his face on the carpet! All I could think about were the germs. I was like, "Don't you go getting sick on our Disney trip!"
So I'm a big fan of all the room renovations that Disney has been doing at the Walt Disney World Resort. On my last two visits, I stayed at the
Animal Kingdom Lodge and at Grand Destino Tower at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. Both of these rooms had lovely new wood-like flooring. It just felt cleaner in my room. I can never go back!
Right now, Heather, there doesn't seem to be an official list of non-carpeted rooms. I've spoken to two Cast Members today about your question and they weren't able to tell me which Disney Resorts have carpeted rooms and which do not. You can always call and speak to
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations. They can probably help you if you have a specific hotel in mind. Otherwise, you can ask at the time of booking, or even when you check in to your hotel to make sure that your assigned room doesn't have carpet.
I hope that's helpful, Heather. I wish I have a more definitive answer for you. Thanks for stopping by planDisney.
