In the past when we have stayed on property and animal kingdom has early morning hours we have never found out how to actually get into the park and ended up waiting in line with everyone else. How do you get into the park on early morning hours?

    Hi Fred!

Extra Magic Hours are an awesome perk for guests staying at an official Walt Disney World Resort hotel. On certain days of the week, resort guests are able to enter select Walt Disney World theme parks one hour before opening or stay in select parks several hours after closing. My family loves to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours, where we enjoy smaller crowds and can visit more attractions without long waits.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Park typically opens at 9am, so on days featuring morning Extra Magic Hours, resort guests would be allowed to enter at 8am to begin enjoying the park. Animal Kingdom's Extra Magic Hours are most often on Mondays and Saturdays.

Disney buses begin running one hour before park opening, so if you're using Disney Transportation, you'd need to catch the Animal Kingdom bus around 7:15 (I always try to allow at least 45 minutes). Once you reach the front gate, you'll simply scan your park ticket or MagicBand to enter. Your resort information is linked to your MagicBand, so the cast member will know you're a resort guest once your band is scanned.

I hope you'll be able to enjoy Extra Magic Hours at Animal Kingdom on your next visit. Don't forget to stop by and see Finding Nemo - The Musical while you're there - it's an amazing show. (Marlin's my favorite!)

    Have a magical day! - Diane W.
