In the past we have stayed at PO-Riverside and PO-FQ. I LOVE POFQ, but hubby wants to try a new resort this time. Would you recommend Caribbean Beach or Coronado Springs? Value resort?

    Hi Karen,

Like you, I'm a big fan of Port Orleans French Quarter. It is my favorite moderate resort for its small size and its theme. But I understand your husband's interest in trying something new. I like staying in resorts all across the Walt Disney World property.

Of the other resorts you mention, I prefer Coronado Springs. My family stayed there just last weekend and had a great visit. Coronado is a little larger than Port Orleans French Quarter, but not as sprawling as Caribbean Beach. Our room was beautiful and spacious, and we were near one of the four bus stops. We never had a long wait for a bus and it didn't take long to stop at the final two stations and get on our way.

At Coronado, you also have lots of food options, including table service, counter service, take-out, pool and waterside bars. The Rix Lounge is one of the trendiest bars on Disney property. And the Dig Site Pool area is pretty amazing. It's got a great water slide and the largest hot tub at Walt Disney World.

We also stay frequently at value resorts. Of those, Pop Century is our favorite for its theme, location and its bus service. (It has a single bus station and does not share buses with other resorts). It is our go-to value resort and we've been staying there frequently since it opened.

The only downside to a value resort for those who are accustomed to the moderate resorts is that they have two double beds instead of two queen beds. That is a deal-break for some people.

I hope that gives you some information to make your selection. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you as you make your plans. Enjoy!
