    In the past when you stayed at a Disney Resort, they gave you magic bands. We are planning on staying at Fort Wilderness. Do they also give you magic bands? Will a magic band be included at Fort Wilderness? If not, how do I get one?

    Hello and welcome to planDisney, Anne. Thanks for visiting us here to ask your vacation planning question. 

    Anne, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is such a fun place to stay. In fact, I've been staying there the week of Christmas every year for over 10 years. I love it there.

    At this time, no matter which Walt Disney World Resort Hotel you choose to stay out, complimentary MagicBands are no longer given out. If you would like a new MagicBand for your upcoming vacation, you can purchase one and have it shipped to your home within a certain timeframe of your vacation. To see if you are eligible to order a MagicBand before your trip, log in to your MyDisneyExpereince account. Then, find the My MagicBands & Cards section. You'll then see your resort reservation and whether or not you have the option to order one at this time. If you aren't able to order a new MagicBand ahead of time, no worries. You can pick one up at any merchandise retail locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks and Resort Hotels. It's easy to link it to your account once you've purchased it and you can find the instructions on the back of the packaging. You can also stop by the front desk or the Outpost at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and ask for a complimentary Key to the World card. This card acts like a room key card and will unlock your door. You can also link your tickets to them and use this card to access the Walt Disney World Theme Parks as well.

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
