On past Disney vacations my family, and I have taken. We would receive a booklet prior to leaving for our vacation? Is Disney still doing that, because I have about 30 days till we go again, and I haven't received anything yet.

Heigh-ho, Stacey, it's off to Walt Disney World you go!

I don't know about you, but I feel like the past year was conjured up by the Evil Queen herself. Taking a Disney vacation will be your very own happily ever after, and you must be so excited that it all begins in just a few weeks.

These days, everything you need to prepare for your upcoming Disney Resort Hotel stay is already at your fingertips. Because things look a little different these days, I suggest starting with a review of the latest health and safety protocols. My family has visited Walt Disney World several times since the reopening last summer, and we feel extremely comfortable with everything Disney is doing to keep Cast Members and Guests safe. If you haven't already done so, link your resort reservation and theme park tickets to your My Disney Experience account. These confirmation numbers should have been in an e-mail you received upon booking your vacation. Next, reserve your theme park days in advance with the Disney Park Pass System, and make any dining arrangements on My Disney Experience.

Upon arrival at your Disney Resort Hotel, you can now bypass the front desk and go directly to your resort room. Complete online check-in and use a MagicBand or smartphone to unlock your room. Complimentary MagicBands are no longer included in your resort stay, so if you decided to forego their purchase, you will need to stop by the front desk at some point to pick up Key to the World Cards for each member of your party; these cards are used to redeem theme park admission, open your resort room door, and charge purchases.

Once inside your room, important information like park hours, resort recreation schedules, and more can be found on your television. Not only are the resort information channels useful, but I love listening to the background music as I get ready in the morning or wind down after a busy day. The My Disney Experience mobile app also contains this information, and I recommend downloading the app and familiarizing yourself with some of its functions before leaving home. It's amazing how much we can accomplish from the palm of our hands!

Amanda, as you count down the final weeks and days until your magical getaway begins, I recommend following planDisney on social media and checking out some of our Panel Extras for tips and advice for visiting Walt Disney World during this special time. My fellow panelists have some great ideas for making the most of a visit in 2021. Thanks for stopping by, and if there is anything else we can help with before you head off on your adventure, please come see us again.
