Hi Karl and welcome back to planDisney!
I'm so glad that you are reaching out to us as you are making plans for your upcoming cruise. It sounds like you will be taking an extra day to explore your Disney Cruise Ship during your voyage. My family and I love to do the same, as there are just so many areas of the ship to enjoy. We often spend extra time near the pools, take a few laps around the Promenade deck, and soak in the atmosphere of a slightly quieter ship.
I'm happy that you are checking the travel document requirements in advance of your embarkation date. It's important to review the
Passport, Visas, and Citizenship Documentation guidelines on the Disney Cruise Line
website.
This section of the website describes in great detail what is required depending on your embarkation port, your destination, and your citizenship. For U.S. citizens sailing on a roundtrip cruise from specific ports to The Bahamas, there are options for acceptable identification documentation as an alternative to a passport. Please review the information provided to be sure that you are set to sail.
I also like to remind my fellow voyagers to keep all identification and other important travel documentation in their possession when they arrive at the port on embarkation day. I personally like to have my swimsuit, sunscreen, and a hat handy as well so that I can enjoy the pools right away. For me, there's nothing that gets me in that vacation mode as fast as being poolside as we begin to set sail!
Karl, please cruise back to planDisney if we can help with anything else. It's truly our pleasure to assist you.
Bon Voyage!
