Hi there, Alma. Welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by with a great question for us. I’m delighted to see you’re planning a visit to the
Happiest Place on Earth. In general, you do not need to present identification when using a
standard theme park ticket for entry into the theme parks. However, there are a few instances where you’d need to present a form of government-issued photo identification.
An example that comes to mind is when you’re activating a
Magic Key pass for the first time and the Cast Member needs to make sure you’re YOU. You can use your valid original passport as identification to ensure your name matches the Magic Key. However, if you’re trying to activate an Imagine Key which requires proof of Southern California residency (between ZIP codes 90000 to 93599), a passport will not work since it does not show your home address. Also, if you’re of legal drinking age and wish to purchase alcohol, you may use your passport to
show proof of age at Disneyland Resort.
As you continue to plan your upcoming trip, don’t forget to check out
Disney Parks Blog for all the fun
festivals and events planned for 2026 at the Disneyland Resort. And please don’t hesitate to stop by
planDisney again if you have more questions for us.
Have a magical day,
Kiki
