Hello and welcome to planDisney, Jennifer! I'm so happy to assist in your travel planning.
Jennifer, my family and I will be sailing with Captain Mickey again in September and I can't wait to be back at sea! If you haven't yet experienced the Magic of Disney Cruise Line, you are in for a fairytale vacation. From the
rotational dining options to the
Broadway-caliber entertainment, there is so much to love!
Now, Jennifer, in order to experience all there is to see and do aboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel, let's make sure you have the
correct travel documentation to set sail. At this time,
closed-loop cruises to Mexico (beginning and ending in San Diego) do not require a passport if you are a U.S. Citizen. In lieu of a Passport, you may present a Government-issued photo ID along with one of the following:
- Original or copy of your state-issued birth certificate*
(Puerto Rico birth certificates issued prior to 7/1/10 are not acceptable)
- Original Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State, or
- Original Certificate of Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
Jennifer, please note that should you be considering a cruise further in the future, it's possible that requirements will change, so please check back or visit the state department website regarding international travel.
I hope this information is helpful as you're planning ahead! If you have any additional questions or need recommendations, don't hesitate to come on back to your new pals here at planDisney.
Lauren
