We are passholders that also have tickets to Oogie Boogie bash. If we wanted to leave CA adv just for a bit to watch the Disneyland fireworks show inside Disneyland & have reservations , will we not be allowed inside the park due to having costumes on?

    Welcome back, Roxanne!

How exciting that you are hoping to double-dip in the Disney magic with both your Magic Key and tickets to the frightfully fun Oogie Boogie Bash. With the party's exclusive tricks and treats in California Adventure and the dazzling Halloween Screams over at Disneyland Park, it's tempting to try to haunt both sides of the Esplanade! Let's chat about how costumes may factor into your evening.

I spoke to a friendly Cast Member today to clarify if any exceptions are made to the costume guidelines for Disneyland Park on the same evening that an Oogie Boogie Bash is taking place. Unfortunately, they informed me that the standard guidelines are still in place, and Guests 14+ are not permitted to wear costumes in the park. They did mention that it may be at the discretion of the Cast Members at the Main Entrance Gate, but you should be prepared to either be turned away or asked to remove your costume for entry. I'm sorry, Roxanne. I know you were hoping for more happily haunted news!

Depending on how elaborate your costume is, you could consider a quick change outside of the gates and renting a locker to store it. There are lockers available for rent just to the left of the entrance to Disneyland Park in various sizes. Of course, I know those minutes at Oogie Boogie are precious, and this may take too much time, but it could be a good option if you have your heart set on catching Halloween Screams.

Alternatively, since you will be visiting on a weekend night, the show is expected to include fireworks! Buena Vista Street inside California Adventure and the Esplanade itself make for great fireworks viewing spots as well. I have often caught them from these two areas, and while it may not be the classic castle view, you can still enjoy the fun!

Roxanne, I sure hope this has been helpful! With your Oogie Boogie ticket, you can enter California Adventure from 3:00 PM, even though the party doesn't kick off until 6:00 PM. I recommend getting there early, checking in for the party, and collecting your Oogie Boogie guide and credentials. Take a moment to sit, get something to eat, and take a look through the guide to earmark all the must-see and must-do activities that are only offered during this event so you can really hit the ground running once the clock strikes 6:00!
