Hi there Amy, and welcome to planDisney!
Being an
Annual Passholder here at Walt Disney World Resort definitely has its perks now and again, and right now this includes
V.I.PASSHOLDER Days and a few select experiences to enjoy for a limited time. One of these is being able to gain access to the former
Restaurant Marrakesh which has seen its share of transformations over the past few years; in this iteration, it is a lounge for fellow Annual Passholders to relax, recharge and refresh themselves and here are a few things the Cast Members stationed there shared:
- This lounge is exclusively intended for Annual Passholders at the current time, and everyone entering will need to show proof of their eligibility. Though offerings and policies are subject to change without prior notice, at the current time they state the following: "Each Passholder must be present and show their valid Annual Pass card, linked MagicBand, MagicBand+ or Disney MagicMobile pass, and a government-issued photo ID to be eligible to enter the Passholder lounge." Unfortunately, this means that at the present time Cast Members should not be permitting entry to any guests who do not have Annual Passes, even if they have family or friends who are.
- As a result of these strict limitations on capacity and who can enter, the time it might take lining up to enter this lounge has fluctuated since it opened, with waits sometimes observed to be an hour or more for the chance to enjoy some tea and water and select snack items. One of the biggest draws is the opportunity to meet a Character friend perhaps visiting from Agrabah such as The Genie or Abu, but this can never be guaranteed by the time you gain entry into the lounge.
Don't forget to pick up your special Annual Passholder magnet featuring Stitch before you leave
EPCOT! (I've personally found the shortest waits for this to be later in the evening, though the line does move quite quickly when folks have their identification ready to present.) There's also a special Stitch-themed Magic Shot for Passholders near
Dreamer's Point in the adjacent World Celebration Gardens, and hopefully you'll both be able to enjoy the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival in its final weeks together!
Here's to all the Passholder Perks - and hopefully many more to come!
