Our passes are set to expire next month. We financially can’t afford to keep all three, but want to keep one due to parking being attached to it. And I won’t be able to use them for awhile due to hip surgery. Can we purchase two passes at a later?

Hiya there, Laura! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

I'm so glad you popped in with your Magic Key question. I know it has been quite the "Emotional Whirlwind" for Magic Key Holders these last few months, but here at planDisney, we have our wands ready to help answer all your questions!

First of all, Laura, I understand the need to "let it go" when it comes to some of the Magic Key Passes in your family. Each Magic Key Holder comes to a point where they have to decide if renewing their passes is worth it for their family, including financially. You just have to do the next right thing. The great news is.. the Disneyland Resort is not going anywhere! You'll still be able to purchase tickets for Guests without Magic Key Passes to visit on the days you choose and you can utilize the Downtown Disney District anytime without tickets!

You can renew any of your Magic Key Passes up to 30 days before their expiration date, so it looks like you're coming up on decision-making time. You can renew into any pass type, so if you were a holder of a higher-level key, you may find the Enchant or Imagine Key a better fit. If you were already a holder of one of these pass types, you can either renew each Magic Key Pass, renew one or two of your Magic Key Passes or let them expire all together. If you choose to let any or all passes expire, you will eventually be able to purchase a new Magic Key Pass once sales reopen. Unfortunately, we don't know exactly when that will be. Currently, the Disneyland Resort is prioritizing renewals of Magic Keys over new sales. If you let a Magic Key Pass expire, I cannot give you an exact timeline of when you'll be able to purchase a new one.

If you do decide that allowing some of your family's Magic Key Passes to expire is the best course of action, you can keep an eye out for the announcement of new sales whenever you're ready. You're most likely to see this on one of the Disneyland Magic Key Instagram Page, the Disneyland Resort Website or Disney Parks Blog first!

Laura, at the end of the day, this decision is up to you. I know it may not be an easy one. What I do know is that Mickey, Minnie and even that grumpy Donald Duck will happily welcome you back to the Disneyland Resort whenever it is best for you!

    Have a magical day,

    Ashley
