What do passengers do between the end of the earlier show and being seated for later dinner? It sounds like the show may last one hour (until 7 PM) and then we won't be seated until 8 PM for dinner. Are there activities to participate in during 7-8 PM?

    Welcome to planDisney, Sarah,

I love this question because it helps showcase one of the biggest reasons my family and I love to sail on the Disney Cruise Line: there is always so much to do onboard your ship!

Many featured evening shows aboard your Disney Cruise Line ship will be approximately an hour long. However, some shows, particularly first-run feature-length Disney movies, may be somewhat longer. Schedules for featured evening entertainment in the Walt Disney Theater and dinner times in the three Rotational Dining restaurants are usually kept consistent for Guests. But any gap between larger gatherings doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to do. Your cruise will be bustling with activity throughout nearly all of the ship’s Guest areas from morning to late at night. There will be a variety of entertainment and activities to choose from all happening at the same time, many of which will even be during regular dinner times and large shows in the Walt Disney Theater. Part of the magic of a Disney cruise is you get to choose the adventure you wish to experience!

A few of my family’s favorite things to do between the featured evening entertainment and dinner include:

    • Meeting our favorite Disney characters
    • Family photos with a scenic backdrop
    • Shopping
    • Youth Clubs
    • Freshening up and relaxing in our stateroom
    • Walking outside or gazing at the ocean on deck 4
    • Eating ice cream

Tony’s Tip: Perhaps the most challenging thing about cruising on the Disney Cruise Line is that there are more options for entertainment and activities available than you can possibly experience during your cruise. Even if you don’t expect it, you may decide like my family did that Disney cruises are one of your new favorite ways to vacation. I highly recommend using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to make a placeholder booking for your next cruise while you are still onboard your Disney cruise ship. You’ll thank me later when you enjoy up to 10% savings on your next cruise, depending on the sailing.

      Have a magical voyage, Sarah!
