How many passengers does an accessible Minnie Lyft van accommodate? I am traveling to Disney with my family (7 of us in total)and my mother will be using a mobility scooter. Will a Minnie Lyft van be able to accommodate all of us including the Scooter?

Hey there, Maria! Welcome to planDisney!

I’m happy to help with your terrific transportation question. The Minnie Vans are a great way to get around Walt Disney World, especially if there isn’t direct transportation from one location to another. For example, my family has used Minnie Vans to get from our hotel to character breakfasts at other Walt Disney World Resort hotels, helping us avoid having to transfer buses and saving us a lot of travel time.

Accessible Minnie Vans are larger vehicles that can accommodate guests with mobility scooters and other mobility devices. They provide seating for up to 5 guests and 2 spots for guests with scooters (guests may remain in their mobility devices for the duration of the ride). While that means a maximum of 7 guests can fit in an Accessible Minnie Van, you’ll need to find additional transportation for your party if 6 of you require regular seating.

The good news is that Walt Disney World bus service provides complimentary transportation to locations all over the resort, and each bus can accommodate guests with mobility devices and larger parties. There aren’t always direct routes between certain locations, such as Walt Disney World resort hotels, but the My Disney Experience mobile app can help with that. You can get directions to most locations at Walt Disney World by searching where you’d like to go, selecting “Get Directions,” and then entering your starting point. Not only will the app give you step-by-step directions and travel times, but it will also show you every mode of transportation (monorail, water taxi, walking, etc.) available to you.

Maria, I hope this information helps with your quickly approaching vacation. If you have you need additional assistance with transportation during your visit, I would suggest talking with a friendly Cast Member or calling (407) WDW-RIDE (407-939-7433). Magical travels!
