I am a pass holder who is local in orlando and want to do a rope drop. How early do I need to be to the park and do i need reservations?

    Hey there, April!

Welcome back to planDisney! I always love meeting a fellow Floridian, and I see you're also part of the Annual Passholder family. The first thing I did after buying my home in Florida was become an Annual Passholder. It really made it feel real!

Rope dropping is my specialty! The amount you can accomplish by arriving early truly sets the tone for your day. Gorgeous weather and lower crowds are a dynamic duo. If you’re staying offsite, I recommend arriving 45 to 60 minutes before the park opens. Just keep in mind that Guests staying onsite have access 30 minutes before the official opening, so there will already be some crowds ahead of you.

There are so many wonderful benefits to being an Annual Passholder. It was a no-brainer for my family and me! I love taking advantage of special pricing for Disney Resort hotels. When you combine your Annual Pass with being an on-site Guest, the possibilities are endless. For example, if you take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, you can combine this with rope dropping. When I do both, I'm able to experience many popular attractions and capture amazing photos with few people in the background.

When it comes to theme park reservations, Annual Passes do require them. Sometimes you’ll come across a good-to-go day, but I always recommend making a reservation just in case, so you don't lose any magical time when trying to scan in.

April, I hope this information helps and that you have a wonderful time rope dropping and maybe even staying until closing! My friends and I call ourselves Team No Sleep, and I definitely recommend giving it a try. Once again, thank you so much for reaching out to us. Please come back anytime.

    Your personal planning companion,
    Michelle
