Hello! We're a party of 4 (10 year old son & 6 year old daughter) going on our first 4 night cruise departing from Miami (Castaway, Nassau & Key W.). We need recomendations on how to take advantage of the ship activities, sites and everything on a

    Hello again, Juan -

You are right on target when looking to plan and making the most out of your magical voyage on the Disney Wonder. A 4-night cruise is an excellent first time cruise experience for a family. Your kids are at an awesome age where they will have the time of their lives. :-)

As a first time cruiser, I always suggest that you pace yourself. There will absolutely be way too many things and too little time. Your senses will be on hyper drive, so enjoy every moment. Please don't forget to step back and watch your kids' reactions when they discover the different activities on board. The expression that you'll see on their faces will be priceless! To start off your cruise, try to check-in early and get to the port to board early. You can enjoy a bountiful lunch once you embark, and you can start exploring the ship. The Youth Clubs will have an open house, so you can check it out with the kids. That's always a great first stop for families. Take the time to play & explore, and even speak with the Youth Counselors to find out about the different activities that your kids can look forward to in the coming days. Take a walk around the atrium and the rest of the main decks to familiarize yourself with the ship - where the main restaurants are, as well as the Sports Deck, Theaters and Pool area. Your stateroom might or might not be ready - so, make sure you've got a day bag, and ideally swimsuits under your clothes, so you can go to the pools early.

Try not to miss any of the Broadway-style shows every evening. Make sure you check the Personal Navigator for any scheduled events. Take one with you at all times, since it's a good guide to have handy. If you want to enjoy any of the Port Adventures, reserve early. Castaway Cay is a favorite destination! I'm out of space, but I hope this gets you started.
    Happy Planning! ~Dolly
